Anthropology 027a/b Introduction to Linguistics

Introduction to basic concepts and methods of modern linguistics. Topics include articulatory and acoustic phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. This course is a prerequisite for subsequent linguistics courses in the Department of Anthropology.

Antirequisite: Linguistics 288a/b or the former Anthropology 021 or the former French 288a/b.
3 lecture hours, half course.
