Course Description

Communication Sciences and Disorders 412a/b Introduction to Audiology

A survey of the discipline of audiology designed to introduced students in audiology and speech-language pathology to the diagnostic, (re)habilitative, and educational roles played by audiologists. The course will address the basic audiological test battery. The course provides an introduction to methods of audiological assessment including pure-tone and speech audiometry, impedance interpretation of basic audiological tests will be addressed.

Antirequisite: the former Communicative Disorders 435a/b
Prerequisites: Psychology 020, 023
3 lecture hours, 2 laboratory/tutorial hour, half course.
