VAH 356F/G Signs and Symbols I: The Mythological-Magical Tradition

This course examines the language of the visual arts from antiquity through the current era, with particular emphasis on the representation of mythological, historical and occult (astrological, alchemical and white magical) themes during the Renaissance.

Antirequisite: The former Visual Arts 356F/G.
Prerequisite: VAH 040, or the former Visual Arts 040, or Classical Studies 150, or permission of the Department.
3 lecture hours, half course.
