Course Description

Mathematics 305b Differential Equations

Existence and uniqueness theorems for first order systems of ordinary differential equations, series solutions of linear differential equations, Bessel's and Legendre's equations, systems of linear differential equations, numerical methods.

Antirequisite: Differential Equations 215a, the former Applied Mathematics 300.
Prerequisites: Calculus 251a/b or the former Mathematics 205b; Mathematics 306a/b.
3 lecture hours, half course.
