History 227E A History of Russia from its Pre-Historical Beginnings to the 18th Century

A study of the old Russian culture, the Church, the State, society, and the beginnings of Russian political thought. Emphasis on the period from the 16th to the late 17th century. The aim of the course is to introduce students to Russia's spiritual, cultural, political and social roots.
