Course Description

ECE 469a/b Digital Control

The use of digital computers and microprocessors to control processes or systems. Discrete signals, systems and Z-transform, relationships between z-plane and s-plane. Difference equations and transfer functions. Sampling and signal reconstruction. Open- and closed-loop analysis of digital control systems.

Antirequisite: The former ES 469a/b
Prerequisite: Completion of third year of the Electrical Engineering program or permission of the Department, ECE 331a/b or the former ES 331a/b, ECE 330a/b or the former ES 330a/b.
2 lecture hours, 1 laboratory hour, half course.
