Course Description

Earth Sciences 450y Field Studies - Geology

Field study of the geology of the Appalachian, Grenville, Superior, and Southern structural provinces of Canada, and the Pleistocene of southern Ontario. A ten day field trip in May, following the examination period.

Prerequisites: Earth Sciences 300b, and two of 411a/b, 412a/b, or 460a/b or permission of the Department of Earth Sciences.
Half course.
Note: Registration may be limited to programs where Earth Sciences 450y is a required course; students must register prior to the September "Add" deadline for full-year courses (see Undergraduate Sessional Dates). Partial cost of the field expenses ($225 in 2001, but subject to change) must be borne by the student, and is payable to the department upon registration. Students should consult the Department Office for details, early in the Fall term.
