Course Description

Communication Sciences and Disorders 423a/b Clinical Phonetics

Study of the production of speech sounds. Special emphasis is placed on the development of phonetic transcription skills and the use of those skills in analyzing and describing the speech of young children and phonologically-impaired children. Includes an introduction to phonological intervention.

Antirequisite: the former Communicative Disorders 223
3 lecture hours, 2 laboratory/tutorial hours, half course.
