Course Description

Psychology 360F/G Cognition in Education

A seminar course investigating the theories of cognitive psychology applied to education. Topics covered may include problem solving, thinking skills, and strategies in curriculum areas such as reading and writing. Students will apply their knowledge through a practicum in local schools.

Antirequisite: The former Psychology 461F/G
Prerequisite: Psychology 022E plus 240a/b or 241 or 241E and registration in third or fourth year of honors psychology; Psychology 020 and 280 plus 240a/b or 241 or 241E and registration in third or fourth year of honors psychology. Psychology 280 may be taken concurrently with 360F/G. General students and special students who receive 70% in the prerequisites may enrol in this course. Others may take this course only with the permission of the Department.
4 seminar hours, half course.
