Course Description

International and Comparative Studies 244a/b Proficiency for HSK

This course is designed for students who speak a Chinese dialect and have a working knowledge of written Chinese. Students will increase their proficiency in the following areas of language: pronunciation, listening and reading comprehension, oral and written communication. The emphasis will be placed on a working knowledge of Standard Chinese. Students who plan to take the HSK test (Chinese Proficiency test) should consider taking this course.

Antirequisite: The former International and Comparative Studies 144a/b
Prerequisite: A first-year university-level language course in Standard Chinese or equivalent, or permission of the Department.
