Course Description

International and Comparative Studies 027 Intermediate Chinese

This course is designed to build upon skills in reading and speaking Mandarin, developed in earlier courses. Students will gain increased vocabulary, and a greater understanding of more complex grammatical structures. They will be able to approach prose, fiction and non-fiction written in the language. Available only to students with no prior background in any Chinese dialect.

Antirequisite: International and Comparative Studies 024, the former Modern Eastern Civilizations 024, 027.
Prerequisite: International and Comparative Studies 007, or the former Modern Eastern Civilizations 007, or OAC Chinese, or permission of the Department.
