Course Description

History 343 American Social History

A systematic study of the structural evolution of America from polycentric Colonial times into a modern integrated society. Emphasis is on the examination of various social units in history including families, kin- groups, communities, elites, etc. Student projects include rudimentary quantitative analysis.

Antirequisite: The former History 343E.
Prerequisite: History 234E.
