Course Description

Spanish 327E Hispanic Poetry from its origins to 1700

A study of Spanish poetry from its medieval origins through the Renaissance (Garcilaso) and mysticism (San Juan de la Cruz) to the Baroque period (Góngora and Quevedo). Special emphasis on individual critical analysis.

Antirequisite: Spanish 337E or the former Spanish 365.
Prerequisite: Spanish 202F/G or permission of the Department.
2 or 3 hours.
