Biology 391b Regulation of Gene Expression in Microorganisms

(Given by the Department of Plant Sciences.) A discussion of the genetic material and molecular mechanisms governing its expression in prokaryotes and eukaryotic microorganisms. The laboratory will introduce the student to the techniques used to analyze DNA and to study gene regulation in a microbial system.

Prerequisites: Biology 280a, 281b, and 290a/b.
2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours, half course.
