| Psychology 390a/b Cross-Cultural Cognition | 
| 
 Differences in thinking processes which are emphasized by various types of cultures: hunting, agricultural, industrial and post- industrial. Detailed, critical examination of selected scientific studies of cross- cultural cognition. Topics may include reasoning, mathematical concepts, contextualization, how language shapes thought, and the effects of literacy.  | 
| Antirequisites: Psychology 339a if taken on main campus during 1990- 91 and Psychology 389a if taken on main campus during 1989-90. | 
| Prerequisites: At least 60% in a 020-level Psychology course and registration in third or fourth year of Honors Psychology program. | 
| 3 seminar hours, half course. |
