Biology 359b Biology of Bacteria and Viruses

(Given by the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.) This course examines fundamental aspects of the structure, physiology, genetics, and phylogenetic relationships of bacteria. Major groups of bacterial and animal viruses are studied. Examples of diverse and environmentally important organisms are presented.

Prerequisites: Biology 280a and 281b.
Admission is limited and will be based on grades in prerequisites. Check timetable for constraints.
2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory hours, half course.
