Biology 357a Immunology

(Given by the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.) Elementary concepts of immunity, structure and function of the immune system, antigens and antibodies, complement, genetic basis of the immune response, humoral and cellular immunity, immunological tolerance, organ and tissue transplantation, allergy and autoimmunity. Lectures are the same as Biology 358a. Not suitable for progression to Honors Microbiology and Immunology.

Antirequisite: Biology 358a.
Prerequisites: Biology 280a and 281b.
2 lecture hours, half course.
