Course Description

Biology 305a Plant Physiology and Biochemistry

(Given by the Department of Plant Sciences.) Physiology and biochemistry of plants and algae with emphasis on: the regulation of carbon and nitrogen metabolism, translocation of nutrients, source-sink relationships, storage and mobilization of seed reserves, and photomorphogenesis.

Prerequisite: Biology 280a; Biology 205a, or equivalent, is strongly recommended.
2 lecture hours, 3 laboratory/tutorial hours, half course.
