Course Description

Philosophy 232E Philosophy in Literature

A philosophical critique of human beings based upon a critical analysis of representative literary works. The emphasis in the course will be on European literature. Readings will include the work of such authors as Dostoevsky, Nietzsche, Tolstoy, Mann, Kafka, Sartre, Beckett and Borges.

Antirequisite: Philosophy 132E and 172F/G.
