Course Description

Mathematics 031 Finite Mathematics

Set theory and logic, permutations and combinations, probability, discrete and continuous random variables, vectors and matrices, linear equations, determinants. Cannot be taken by students who have credit for the former Mathematics 027 or equivalent, without the permission of the Department of Mathematics.

Antirequisites: Applied Mathematics 025a/b, 213b, the former Applied Mathematics 022, 212a, 214b; Linear Algebra 040a/b; Mathematics 028a/b, 030, 203b, 208a, 222a, 283b; the former Mathematics 029a/b, 202a, 206a; Statistical Sciences 241a/b, the former Statistical Sciences 232a, 255.
Prerequisite: Any OAC Mathematics or Mathematics 012a/b or 017a/b.
