Award Description

Student Road Safety Competition

The Engineering Institute of Canada, supported by the North American Life Assurance company, sponsors a Student Road Safety Competition. This is a competition for all undergraduate engineering students in Canada on ideas and methods to reduce motor vehicle accidents and thereby increase road safety. New or novel ideas are particularly desired. The only stipulation is that such ideas should be within reasonable economic reach and possible within the next 10 to 15 years. Contestants are encouraged to select their own subject but may coordinate the subjects or form of presentation to suit thesis requirements. Presentations may be made by groups of students, providing all are eligible; any awards would then be made to the group.

1st Prize of $1000, 2nd Prize of $600, 3rd Prize of $400, 4th Prize of $200
