Award Description

John Dearness Memorial Pre-Service Award

Awarded annually to a student at the Faculty of Education who is enrolled in elementary pre-service education who demonstrates excellence in both course work and practicum experience with respect to early literacy development. Candidates for the award will be nominated by their language arts instructors and reviewed by a committee of relevant faculty members. Nomination forms are available from the Office of the Associate Dean, Faculty of Education, and will be reviewed by a committee within the Faculty of Education. Deadline for submission of applications is April 30th. Established in memory of John Dearness by his family.
